POSITION SUMMARY
Prepare cooking ingredients, including sectioning, dicing, and preserving the food. Wash fresh fruits and vegetables thoroughly, and peel them if necessary. Measure, weigh, and blend various food components. Cook food based on recipes, quality standards, presentation requirements, and food preparation checklists. Prepare food for cold storage. Be skilled in using ovens, stovetops, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Assess whether or not the food is cooked adequately. Focus on food quality while preparing the dishes. Set up and clear your workstation. Put food in the correct portion sizes into the appropriate and safe receptacles. Clean and sterilize all kitchen equipment and surfaces, including knives, utensils, tables, and machines. Verify that the appliances and food are at the correct temperatures.
Comply with all organizational policies on workplace safety and security. Address any safety hazards, maintenance issues, accidents, or injuries to the manager. Maintain certifications and complete safety training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Prospective applicants must have completed their high school education or acquired a G.E.D. certificate.
A minimum of one year of related work experience is expected.
Insufficient Experience in Supervising: Without any supervisory experience, it may be difficult to manage a team effectively.
This field doesn't typically require any official licensing or certification, but having some relevant educational or training experience can be beneficial
