Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
The primary duty of this job is to cleanse, differentiate, and distribute various dishes and utensils to dining outlets within the hotel while keeping your work area tidy and efficient. Furthermore, expedite clean dishes and utensils to the cook line and other spaces in the Food & Beverage department as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Take inventory and calculate food costs to maintain accurate food service records. Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and coworkers. Maintain professional communication with team members and management.
2. Properly retrieve the dishes from the machine, arrange them categorically, and then replace each piece to its specific location within the kitchen.
3. Regular disposal of garbage in the dish area and kitchen is essential in maintaining cleanliness and good health. Cleaning the floors, walls, and counters should follow the resort standards and health department's guidelines to meet the highest standards of hygiene.
4. Transfer the used dishes to the cleaning section and replace the unoccupied Queen Mary carts to their parking location, for outdoor occasions.
5. Follow the direction of your supervisor to complete basic cleaning duties in accordance with hotel cleanliness standards, such as using standard cleaning supplies to sanitize high-touch surfaces.
6. To sustain a well-managed operation, make sure the counters and preparation areas are wiped down frequently.
7. Stock up the required provisions in the restock section.
8. Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of your work area is crucial for effective work flow.
9. It is crucial to meticulously follow the safety guidelines while handling cleaning agents. Ensure to keep an eye out for things that could cause slips and falls such as water on the kitchen floors.
10. Work with the supervisor to relocate food carts, dish racks, and other essential kitchen equipment as instructed.
11. Help plate-up meals for large-scale gatherings.
12. Establish equipment stations in predetermined locations to aid service staff in executing their roles.
13. The establishment of bus terminals along operation corridors will expedite service.
14. Forecast equipment needs based on scheduled activities.
15. Whenever required, assist the dishwashing and service staff members with their work.
16. Fulfill any other duties required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Applicants must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and follow instructions.
2. The kitchen job encompasses several areas, and specific zones may generate significant noise levels due to machines, conversations, and other ambient sounds. Frequent disruptions are probable, indicating a need for rapid activity switching.
3. Capacity to check and count the service ware to make sure that the wait staff has the suitable number needed.
4. To qualify for this job, you must have the ability to lift heavy objects that are of 75 pounds by using means such as pushing, pulling or transporting them. The task also requires the individual to carry items weighing at least 50 pounds for short distances.
5. Competence to stay collected in high-pressure scenarios. The work surrounding involves high-speed activities with noticeable commotion and frequent disruptions. The workspace might be limiting.

7. It is favorable to possess basic communication skills in English.
